EXAMPLES OF MATERIALS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT

THAT ARE NEEDED BY SCHOOL SYSTEMS

The Clearinghouse is a vehicle for business/industry to distribute surplus items only, therefore, specific school needs will not be posted.  Instead this list of "Examples of Materials, Supplies and Equipment Needed by School Systems" is posted as a guideline for participating businesses and industries. However, this list is not all inclusive and businesses and industries may post any surplus resources that they believe are appropriate for use by schools and educators.  Schools interested in participating in the Clearinghouse should register using the link on the Clearinghouse homepage.

I.  Office/classroom equipment and supplies of all types

1)      Desks/tables/chairs – student & teacher

2)      Office furniture or fixtures (file cabinets, wastebaskets, waiting area chairs, etc)

3)      Computers to meet at least established minimum standards

4)      Laser printers or other quality printers

5)      Overhead projectors, LCD panels, smart boards, Elmos, DVD players, multimedia projectors, other AV equipment

6)      Computer tables, wheeled carrying cases for computers, projectors, etc.

7)      Software for teaching purposes (Microsoft Office – least Windows 98, blueprint software, GIS software)

8)      Paper products

9)      Paper clips, staplers & staples (regular & heavy duty), colored markers, desk organizers, etc

10)   Chalkboards and whiteboards

11)   TV’s/VCR’s 

II.  Automotive equipment and supplies

1)      Parts – all makes and models

2)      Auto-service equipment (tools, lifts, tire changers, etc.)

3)      Auto-service software of all types

4)  Vehicles (good and not working for rebuilding) 

         III.    Computer-based drafting and design equipment        

1)    Paper

2)    Blue print/printers for labs

3)    Inks or cartridges for blueprint production

4)    Chairs or stools and drafting boards for classroom

5)    Drafting and design software programs with licenses

         IV.  Technology Classes equipment/materials/supplies

1)      CNC lathes, mills, overhead grinders

2)      Metal stock of all types  (aluminum, brass, cold or hot roll steel, etc)

3)      Band saws, metal cutoff saws, other hand tools

4)      Software applications for Precision Machining

5)      Construction software

6)      Small robotics

7)      Drafting materials

8)      Simple bio-technology materials and equipment

9)      Welding equipment, materials and supplies

10)   Tables, benches
