Calhoun Warhawks have the Giving Spirit

The Calhoun Warhawk Student Ambassadors have been off to a busy start this year. Early in the semester, they conducted a fundraiser to pay for a Warhawk Leadership Retreat. The retreat was held on November 13-14, 2009 at Camp Maranatha Camp & Conference Center in Scottsboro, AL. The remaining monies collected are being used to help with charitable events this holiday season. Kicking off their activities, they purchased two children's bikes to donate to the WZYP Mojo radio show's “Bikes or Bust” event. They also plan to be a “Santa to a Foster Child in need” through the Kids to Love organization and to sponsor a homeless family through the Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen.
