Programs Through OMEMS and Other Military Branches
College Credit for Military Training

Welcome to Calhoun Community College's web page regarding programs available through our college in conjunction with the US Army Ordnance Missile and Electronic Maintenance School (OMEMS) and other military branches.

Calhoun Community College (CCC) is located in Decatur, Alabama, with a campus in Huntsville, AL. Calhoun is the largest community college in the State of Alabama, enrolling approximately 11,000 students.

In conjunction with the US Army Ordnance Missile and Electronic Maintenance School, Calhoun offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Missile and Munitions Technology (MMT). This degree allows students to apply for 27-42 semester hours of military courses credit to their Associate Degree Program at Calhoun. MMT Basic, MMT Option I (Calibration) and MMT Option II (Technical Management) are offered in conjunction with OMEMS. MMT Option III (Military Technology) is offered in conjunction with all military branches.

If you have acquired at least 27 semester hours from the following list of OMEMS courses, you are eligible for the OMEMS-affiliated MMT program. If you have acquired at least 27 semester hours from your military training, regardless of branch of service, you are eligible for the MMT degree, Option III (Military Technology).

Due to the unique nature of the OMEMS-affiliated degree options, college residence is waived to 3 semester hours taken with CCC. The MMT Option III (Military Technology) degree requires 16 semester hours taken with CCC. The MMT degree requires 22 semester hours of college coursework earned from an accredited college.
