Meet Our Title III Team

Dr. Dena Stephenson
Title III Coordinator

Dr. Stephenson answers directly to the President and is responsible for management of the project, supervision of the Title III Component Directors and direction of the Title III Leadership Team. She is a member of both the President's Cabinet, which includes senior administrators, and the Strategic Planning Council. Duties include:

  • Serve as Team Leader for the Title III Leadership Team and Internal Evaluation Team.
  • Supervise Component Directors and provide leadership to the entire project.
  • Meet regularly with Title III Leadership Team to ensure objectives are accomplished.
  • Maintain budget oversight and maintenance of financial records.
  • Collect evaluation data for activity objectives and oversee evaluation processes.
  • Prepare interim and final reports on the project for the College President, the Strategic Planning Council, and the funding agency.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all project activities.
  • Assure successful completion of project objectives and adherence to timeline.
  • Assist in institutionalizing project activities into the College's ongoing operations.

Ms. Kerby lends clerical, word processing, and record keeping support to the project and reports to the Title III Coordinator. She supports the project by devoting 50% time to grant activity and 50% time to grant management. Duties include:

  • Maintain database, prepare documents to support the activity and project management.
  • Maintain fiscal records for Title III project.
  • Assist Title III Coordinator in preparing interim and final reports on the project to the College President, the Strategic Planning Council, and the funding agency.
  • Maintain records and official minutes of Title III meetings.

Academic Component Director

Mr. Cox directs the course redesign component. Duties include:
  • Serve as a member of the Title III Leadership Team under the direction of the Title III Coordinator.
  • Work with the Leadership Team and faculty redesign teams to implement course redesign in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Design and conduct professional development for redesign teams and all faculty.
  • Provide project leadership to assure accomplishment of all academic component objectives.
  • Supervise the Instructional Technology Specialist.
  • Assist in evaluating Academic Component outcomes

Ms. Nelson works closely with the Title III Coordinator and Component Directors. She oversees all hardware and software implementation, including overseeing the creation of the Virtual College environment. Duties include:
  • Serve as a member of the Title III Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate with the Leadership Team to implement online services and the virtual college environment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate faculty and staff training schedules for online services and use of the Virtual College with Component Directors.
  • Supervise the Virtual Services Specialist.
  • Assure integrity and reliability of all college computer technology and information systems.
  • Assist in evaluating grant outcomes.

Mr. Eddie Gooch
Virtual Services Specialist

Mr. Gooch reports to the Director of Information Technologies. Duties include:
  • Ensure proper server administration, including back-up procedures.
  • Administer First Class software and email system.
  • Share data between the Datatel System and the First Class software.
  • Create student training materials for Virtual College
  • Train faculty in set-up and use of the Virtual College for academic use.
  • Develop web links for the Virtual College .
  • Lead implementation of Datatel Communication Management Module to be used for communication with students through the Virtual College .
  • Provide electronic distributions of Virtual College using First Class Client software.
