Phlebotomists are ambassadors of the clinical laboratory who, for many patients or clients, are the primary lab personnel with whom they have contact. Responsibilities include the collection of blood specimens by venipuncture and accurate electronic logging of specimens into the clinical lab information system.

Students interested in CLT 100, PHLEBOTOMY, may register for this course in advising. Current students register on Web Advisor.

Admission Requirements: Unconditional admission to the college. Preclinical requirements are due the first week of class.

Program Costs: In addition to tuition (2 credit hours) and textbook and lab kit costs there are preclinical requirement expenses including but not limited to Malpractice Insurance, Health Exam, Immunizations, Laboratory Testing, Drug Screen and Back Ground checks at the students' expense. Students should schedule their physical before the first day of class.

The student will be required to provide his or her own transportation to the assigned clinical facility.

This project was funded in part, by a grant awarded under the President's Community-Based Job Training Grants, as implemented by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration.
