to Become Better Fathers
Information about Skills Training
You DO NOT have to have a high school diploma or GED to
enroll in skills training classes.
-
Skills training classes are taught at
Calhoun
Community College. They were developed specifically for
non-custodial parents who participate in the Alabama
Fatherhood Initiative of Morgan County.
-
The courses are competency based, meaning that you work at
your own pace and have up to 12 weeks for completion of
classes.
-
Short-term training is available free-of-charge to eligible
non-custodial parents.
-
We will assist you with enrollment.
-
If you have special learning needs, we will develop a
training plan designed to help you overcome these barriers
and successfully complete skills training.
-
You are also expected to work while you are participating in
the program.
-
Upon course completion, participants receive skills training
certification and assistance with employment placement.
