Policies and Procedures for Distance Learning at Calhoun

  • Students register for Distance Learning classes, both hybrid (HC) and online (W), in the same way that they register for any other class. That is, students apply to the College, take any required placement tests, meet with an advisor as necessary, and register for classes using Web Advisor. For more information, click here.
  • Students enrolled in Distance Learning classes at Calhoun have access to all the facilities, services, and resources offered on Calhoun’s physical campuses.
  • Online ‘W’ courses require no on-campus visits. Hybrid ‘HC’ courses require on-campus attendance at prescheduled times throughout the semester. It is the student’s responsibility to understand the on-campus attendance requirements for any HC course in which he/she enrolls.
  • Distance Learning students are expected to have basic computer literacy skills, as well as access to a reliable computer with internet connections. The Technical Requirements for Distance Learning courses at Calhoun are available here.
  • Distance Learning students should understand that Distance Learning classes often require a greater amount of self-discipline and personal responsibility than traditional ones. Click here to see if Distance Learning classes are right for you.
