Why should I attend?

If you are a parent who is separated, divorced, never married, or trying to heal your relationship with your co-parent and want to be the best parent you can be by helping your child thrive regardless of your family situation.

What’s in it for me?

In addition to gaining ideas about helping your child be more happy and successful, with the support and energy of other parents, food, snacks and drinks are provided, and you get a gift card when you complete the program.

Responsible Fatherhood (Parenting) Topics will include:

How conflict between parents puts our children in danger and how cooperation protects them. Ways to communicate more effectively. The joy of being an admiring parent. How to heal core hurts, raise core value, become more compassionate and make decisions that are in the long-term best interest of you and your family. Additional topics include: shaken baby syndrome, safe sleeping, and child sexual abuse prevention.

Healthy Relationships Topics will include:

Conflict resolution, communication skills, the challenges and rewards of attachment relationships, grieving the loss of a relationship, healing resentments and forgiveness.

What does a Healthy Relationship look like?

Healthy relationships build the sense of self of all parties involved through unconditional safety and security for everyone and high levels of compassion. They have a balance of compassion for you and others; standing up for your rights and feelings while respecting the rights and feelings of others. Others are equally valuable but no more valuable than you. Compassion is more important than love in relationships. It leads to trust and intimacy. Healthy relationships are free from resentment, hostility, abuse and emotional constraints. When relationships fail to provide safety and security for everyone, they become destructive to our sense of self.
