Advising Tips for Students Seeking 2-Year Degrees
- Follow curriculum for degree in Calhoun catalog
- Seek advice from faculty in your major area
- Apply for graduation a semester in advance
Remember:
- Prerequisites for individual courses are found in catalog course descriptions
- Associate in Science (AS) degrees may lead to transfer to a 4-year school
- Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees generally lead to mastery of specific skills for the workforce
- You may choose to follow requirements of the catalog you started under or the one under which you graduate
- You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 to graduate

Seeking 4-Year Degrees
- Access STARS guide for your major
- Additionally, confirm degree requirements with 4-year school
- Apply to 4-year school 6-12 months in advance
Remember:
- Only 64 semester hrs. of two-year college credit will apply toward 4-year degree
- It is not necessary to complete a 2-year degree to be eligible to transfer
- If a 2-year degree is desired, the A.S. degree is preferable to the A.A.S.
- Acceptance of D's is decided by the 4-year school
- You must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 to transfer
