The opening production of Calhoun Theatre's 2005-2006 season was Robert
Anderson's You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running.
The play is actually four one-act plays loosely related by the theme of
sex: a thrice-divorced actor who will do - or remove - anything to get a
part, a middle-aged couple clashing over getting separate beds, an uneasy
husband and wife figuring out how - and how much - to tell their children
about sex, and a senile couple who can't remember each other's name.
Audience members found themselves laughing at things they later realized
they shouldn't be laughing at in this brilliantly written play that gets
progressively funnier and sadder at the same time.
You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running ran for ten performances from October 5 - 16.
