The 1997 season premiered with a festive version
of Shakespeare's classic battle of the sexes. Set in Renaissance Italy, the play ran for
14 performances over a three-week run. The set was classical Italianate architecture in silver and bronze. The highlight of the play was the wedding of Kate and Petruchio, which in the text was only described but in our version was adapted from that description and acted out.
