Calhoun Theatre's Spring 1995 production was
actually two shows: the male and female versions of Neil Simon's THE ODD COUPLE. The male version, by far the more widely known and produced and later made into a popular television series, tells the story of the sloppy Oscar and the fastidious Felix, sharing an apartment in 1960s New York City. The female version retains the original's premise but turns the two leads into Olive and Florence and adapts the story to women in the 1980s. Calhoun presented each version four times on alternating nights in the round in the Black Box Theatre. |
