Advanced Electronics Manufacturing
About the Program
The objective of the Advanced Electronic Manufacturing program is to train skilled technicians for work in the advanced electronic manufacturing industry. This industry requires a unique set of skills and knowledge including:
- Foundations of math, science, and electrical theory applied in the electronic manufacturing process.
- A graded series of courses addressing a wide range of applied concepts from understanding basic electronic components and equipment to the full spectrum of manufacturing principles, including advanced manufacturing processes and technologies.
Topics to include:
- Printed circuit board layout and fabrication,
- Component identification
- Material selection,
- Through-hole and surface mount technology
- Hand and automated soldering techniques
- Cable harness assembly
- Microelectronic component and application processes,
- Fiber optics
- Optoelectronics, and related quality control and management concepts
