Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

About the Program

The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) Program at Calhoun Community College is designed to lead to a Certificate of Proficiency or an Associate in Applied Science degree. The student in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration learns to install and repair air conditioning and refrigeration equipment in office buildings, factories, homes, food stores, restaurants, theaters, and other establishments. The practical experiences provide proficiency in cutting pipe and repair and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, along with load and duct design. Applicants for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Program must have a high school diploma or a GED.

There is an Associate of Applied Science Degree for this program as well as a certificate program
