WHO'S WHO AMONG AMERICAN JUNIOR COLLEGES

Calhoun Graduate & Honor Student, Olivia AugustusEach year students at Calhoun Community College participate in the Who’s Who Among American Junior Colleges’ Academic Honors program. Student nominees are selected on the basis of their overall academic record, school involvement, and community service activities. Once selected, students who have been nominated from the previous year have their data posted to their permanent academic record. The selection process consists of the following procedures:

  • Database is generated listing the number of currently enrolled students who have completed a minimum of 28 semester hours and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better (1200 – 1600 average). No remedial courses or dual enrollment students are included.
  • Letters are sent by the Dean for Student Affairs to all the individuals listed in the database encouraging them to nominate themselves for consideration as a Who’s Who applicant. The applicants are given a two to three week deadline for all applications to be submitted to the Student Affairs Office.
  • (Limestone Correctional Facility students are not eligible for nomination).
  • After the deadline, a selection process screens all applications. The Dean for Student Affairs approves final selection.
