CAREER SERVICES
Frequently Asked
Questions
Can you place me in a
job?
We do
not "place" students in jobs. We do serve as a referral
service for students and alumni seeking full time or
part time employment. Area employers call us with job
opportunities and we make the information available to
students and alumni. For more information on how you can
utilize our services, click on "Job Postings/Referrals." You may also
find additional job opportunities listed by checking out
the "Useful Websites" link. If you are currently seeking
a job, you may want to register with us so that you can
be notified of possible opportunities as they arise. You
can do this by clicking on the "Career Services
Application."
Will you do my resume
for me?
No, the
Career Services Office does not have personnel available
to prepare resumes. However, we do have resource
material available in the Career Services Office to help
you prepare a resume, compose a cover letter, or prepare
for the interview. Contact us and we will be happy to
send you some resources. You may find additional
information by clicking on the "Useful Websites" link.
DISCOVER also has resume
preparation information and you can learn more about
DISCOVER.
How can an employer get
referrals from Calhoun's Career Services Office?
Click
on the "Job Postings/Referrals" link for instructions. Many employers
choose to attend Calhoun's Career Information Day to
recruit potential employees. Contact us at
nas@calhoun.edu for additional
information/assistance.
Do you have a test I
can take to help me decide what I want to do?
There
is no "test" you can take, because a "test" means you
must supply right answers to questions. However, we do
have some useful tools to help you decide for yourself.
DISCOVER has some
inventories that you can take that give you an
opportunity to answer some questions about yourself and
then pull that information together to give you a great
"starting point."
DISCOVER
is free and can be accessed from any computer
with Internet access, but you must obtain a user i.d.
Go to the
DISCOVER
link to acquire your user i.d.
