Calhoun Nursing Graduates Achieve
100% Passage Rate on Licensure Exam;
Exceed State and National Averages
Based on the most recent quarterly report from the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses, graduates from Calhoun Community College 's Practical Nursing program achieved a 100% passage rate, exceeding both the state rate of 88.2% and the national rate of 86.3%.
"This perfect passage rate for our practical nursing graduates demonstrates the excellence of our program, the dedication of our students and the hard-work and commitment of our nursing faculty," commented Calhoun President Marilyn Beck. "Our nursing graduates are employed by hospitals, private physicians and other health-care facilities across the country, and we are indeed proud of their accomplishments," Dr. Beck added.
Calhoun has been a major supplier of nurses to the workforce in North Alabama for over 50 years. The Practical Nursing program, established in 1953, was the first program in Alabama to be accredited.
