Calhoun Community College to Offer Day Classes
this Spring at College's Huntsville Campus
Calhoun Community College today announced that it will now offer day classes at its Huntsville/Cummings Research park campus beginning with the spring semester. According to college officials, this marks the first time since moving to the Research Park location that the college has been allowed to offer day classes, coming as a result of the recent end of Alabama’s desegregation case.
“Our ability to now offer day classes at both our Decatur and Huntsville campuses will allow the college to meet the growing demand for such general education courses as math, English, and science while providing our students with even greater scheduling options,” said Calhoun President Marilyn Beck.
According to Alicia Taylor, dean of Calhoun’s Huntsville campus, students will now be able to take math, English, history, computer science, art, psychology and biology during the day at the Huntsville campus. Day classes will begin at 10:00 am. Registration for Calhoun’s spring semester is still underway; classes begin January 8, 2007.
