Students to Attempt Guinness World Record-Breaking Event

The Calhoun Community College Student Government Association (SGA) is sponsoring an attempt to set a Guinness Book World Record for the World’s Largest Water Balloon Toss. SGA representatives are hoping at least 500 participants will sign up for the event. The Balloon Toss will be held on the Decatur campus Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 12:00 noon in front of the Chasteen Student Center. All students, faculty, staff, and the general public are invited to participate. You must be eight (8) years of age or older, sign a waiver, and donate $1.00 to the Tsunami Relief Fund to be included in the attempt. Goggles are an optional suggestion.

The Balloon Toss is being held in conjunction with other Spring Fest activities such as the naming of Mr. & Ms. Calhoun 2005, Karaoke, a Rock Climbing Wall, Bouncy Boxing, children’s events, and a student Talent Show. Activities begin at 11:00 a.m. For more information about the Balloon Toss, contact Kelly Hovater, Student Activities Facilitor, at 256-306-2640. See more information on Spring Fest Activities.
