Career Workforce Expo 2005

The Calhoun Community College Tech Prep program will present the CAREER & WORKFORCE EXPO 2005 February 8, 2005 , in the Aerospace Training Center on the Calhoun Decatur campus from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Over 350 students, parents and educators attended the 2004 event. This year the event expects to host nearly 1,000 students.

The Career and Workforce Expo is a unique opportunity bringing local employers together with young people, parents, and teachers. In addition to displaying products and providing information about their companies, participating businesses are available to discuss the workforce skills needed to help produce their products and services. Employers from throughout Calhoun's service area ( Lawrence , Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties) have been invited to participate and provide students with information they may need to make choices about their careers and education. Exhibitors currently scheduled for this year's Expo include Solutia, the Decatur Police Department, BP Amoco, Decatur Family Dentistry, SportsMed, Key Engineering, Nova Chemicals, Pro-Air Services, the U.S. Navy, Federal Mogul, Army National Guard Recruiting, Decatur Career Center , Calpine Decatur Energy Center , Ensolve, Athens-Limestone Hospital , Homebuilders Association of Alabama, and the U.S. Army.

The 2005 Career and Workforce Expo is presented by Calhoun Community College in conjunction with the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Morgan County
