Calhoun Community College Plans Program Honoring King

Martin Luther King, Jr.Calhoun Community College will conduct its annual program honoring civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Thursday, January 13, 2005 , beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the college's Decatur campus.

The program will feature performances by the Davis Hills Middle School ( Huntsville ) drama club and choir. According to Dr. Izora Harrison, coordinator of the Calhoun MLK commemorative program, the event is free and open to the public. "Each year, Calhoun plans a special celebration to commemorate the life of Dr. King, and we are always pleased at the participation we have from our local community," said Harrison .

Calhoun will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2005 , in observation of the national Martin Luther King holiday.
