Calhoun Community College
to Host Technology Jobs Forum
Find out where the technology jobs are and how to get there at a Technology Industry Jobs forum to be held Tuesday, August 9, 2005 , 6:30 p.m. in the Aerospace Training Center at Calhoun Community College 's Decatur Campus.
The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Calhoun and the Calhoun Foundation. Hear directly from industry representatives about jobs, changes in technology, career opportunities and the education and training needed for these jobs now and in the future. Forum participants include 3M, Nova Chemicals, Siemens, The Boeing Company, Tyco Industry, and Key Engineering.
"The forum is targeted at recent high school graduates, current students, or employees seeking new job skills or wanting a career change," commented Jim Swindell, assistant dean for technologies and workforce development. "Information will be presented on a number of technology career fields, including Aerospace Technology, Advanced Electronics Manufacturing, Design Drafting Technology, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Electrical Technology, Machine Tool Technology, and Process Technology," Swindell added.
