April 26, 2004 Calhoun's Best to be Honored at 35th Annual Honors DayDecatur, AL -- Calhoun Community College will recognize and honor its top students, faculty and staff during its 35th Annual Honors Day convocation, scheduled for Friday, April 30, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Kelley Gymnasium on the Decatur campus. Among those students to be honored are Andrew W. Lynn and Regina R. Watkins, Calhoun's representatives on the 2004 All-Alabama Academic Team. Additionally, the College's "Top Ten" Students for 2004, which include Lynn and Watkins, will be recognized.
Other awards to be presented include the James B. Allen Pin Award, given in honor of the late U.S. Senator James B. Allen of Alabama to the student who has demonstrated order through citizenship, scholarship and service. In addition, the most outstanding student from each of the college’s departments will be recognized. Academic awards will be given to those students receiving Calhoun scholarships, and scholarships from four-year colleges and universities also will be awarded by representatives from those institutions. Outstanding faculty and staff at the college also will be recognized through the presentation of Outstanding Teaching Awards to full and part-time faculty and the Outstanding Service Awards, to be presented to the staff member and administrator who have best demonstrated outstanding service to the institution and community in the past year.
