Calhoun Community College Announces
Black History Month Calendar of Events

Calhoun Community College today announced its calendar of events in recognition of February as Black History Month.  This year’s events include an art exhibit, the annual African American Read-In, and the 15th Annual Gospel Fest.

The art exhibit features artist Johnnie L. Wilson of Huntsville, AL.  He is a graphics designer with Cortez, Inc., at Marshall Space Flight Center, but his passion is people, which is reflected in his work.  Originally from Galveston, Texas, Johnnie is married and has five children.  In addition to his graphics arts degree, he holds a BA in Theology from Word of Truth Seminary and is retired from the U. S. Army.

According to Dr. Izora Harrison, director of Special Student Populations and coordinator of Calhoun's Black History Month programs, all activities are free and open to the public.  For more information on any of the events or programs, contact Dr. Harrison at 256/306-2635.
