The Calhoun Community College Tech Prep program will present CAREER & WORKFORCE EXPO 2004 on Tuesday, February 24, 2004, in the Aerospace Training Center on Calhoun’s Decatur campus.  The Career and Workforce Expo is a unique event that brings together local business and industry, employers and young people, teachers and parents on the Calhoun campus.   

Expo displays will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Calhoun Tech Prep is working with high schools throughout the Consortium to arrange student tours during the daytime session and to invite students and their parents to attend the Expo during the evening. 

Employers from throughout the Calhoun service area have been invited to take part in this opportunity to meet the workforce of the future and provide these young people with the information they need to make informed and productive choices about their careers, their education and their future.

The evening session will feature a presentation by Dr. Larry Little, director of the Enrichment Center in Decatur, on the importance of preparing for the future through education.  Information on workforce trends and financial aid options will also be made available at that Expo.  Students in eighth grade and above are invited to attend. 

Tables and booth space will feature industries and businesses displaying their products and information about their companies.  Company representatives will be on hand to speak with students, parents and teachers about the products and services they provide and the skills tomorrow’s workforce will need to help produce those products and services. 

The Expo is co-sponsored by the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, the Morgan County Economic Development Association, the Limestone County Economic Development Association, and the Madison City Chamber of Commerce.
