Calhoun Community College Announces
Record Summer Semester Enrollment
Dr. Marilyn
Beck, president of Calhoun Community College, today announced that
with a total of 5072 students enrolled for the college's 2003
summer semester, the college has reached a record summer
enrollment.
Of the students taking
classes at Calhoun this summer, 3147 are enrolled at the Decatur campus; 1574
are taking evening and weekend classes at the college's Huntsville/Cummings
Research Park campus; 88 are in classes taught at the Redstone Arsenal
extension; and 263 inmates are enrolled in certificate/vocational courses
provided through the college's program at Limestone Correctional Facility.
"We are extremely pleased
to see continued increases in our enrollment," said Beck. "As the largest of
the Alabama’s 29 two-year colleges, Calhoun continues to offer a quality
education to our students at an affordable cost and at convenient times and
locations, all contributing toward our continued enrollment increases.
“We remain dedicated to
providing the level of educational and training opportunities which this
community demands and are proud to be an active partner in the north Alabama
area,” Beck added.
