The Art of Modern Milling
A cooperative event among Calhoun Community College, Sandvik and Haas

Calhoun Community College , in partnership with Sandvik Coromant and Hass, will host a free seminar on the latest and greatest in modern day milling machinery and techniques on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, from 9am-2pm in the college's Aerospace Training Center located on the Decatur campus.

The event, to be held in conjunction with HAAS Demo Day, will feature presentations and demonstrations from technicians who are working with these new processes and the techniques to employ them. Attendees will learn about the most modern programming techniques, utilizing the latest and most cost efficient tooling technology.

Guest speaker for the event is Chad Falciani, who will share his experiences in the geneses of his company Falciani Machine into the current FMI / Huntsville Medical—how he started and what the causes and effects were that helped him grow this company into the well-respected name it is today.

The event will include a tour of Calhoun's newly equipped machine tool technology shop, along with demonstrations on the college's new Haas VF-2SS and the TL-25 sub-spindle lathe.
