The Grainger Foundation Donates
$5,000 to Calhoun Community College
Decatur, AL – The Grainger Foundation recently made a $5,000 donation to the Calhoun Community College Foundation during a presentation at Calhoun's Decatur campus. The donation was made following a recommendation from John Hunter, manager of Grainger's branch in Decatur . The gift will fund five $1,000 scholarships for deserving students pursuing technology degrees.
“Grainger has a strong commitment to technical education across the country,” said Hunter . “We are proud to support Calhoun Community College and its goal to build a skilled local workforce.”

Calhoun Community College students selected to receive Grainger Scholarships for the 2009-10 academic year are (pictured above l-r): Robert King of New Market, Graham Wilson of Decatur, John Hunter and Darious Bland of Huntsville, Cody Lanford of Somerville , and Josh Reyer of Ardmore . King and Bland are majoring in Electrical Technology. Wilson is a Machine Tool major. Lanford is in Calhoun's pre-engineering program and Reyer is a Design Drafting student.
