Steinmetz Joins Calhoun's Adminstrative Team as New Associate Dean Of Admissions/Registrar

Calhoun Community College President Dr. Marilyn Beck today announced the selection of Rob Steinmetz as the college’s new Associate Dean of Admissions and Registrar.  Steinmetz officially begins his new duties at the college today and was hired through a national search to replace former registrar and admissions director Dr. Wayne Tosh, who recently retired from Calhoun after 33 years of service to the college.

A graduate of Chattanooga State Community College and the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga (from which he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees), Steinmetz is currently pursing a Doctorate of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama.  Most recently, he served as Director of Recruitment, Retention and Enrollment Services at Chattanooga State, where he also held the position of Coordinator of Student Activities and Orientation. 

In his new position at Calhoun, Steinmetz will serve as the college registrar and will be responsible for managing admissions and records, enrollment management (which includes recruitment and advising), registration, retention, orientation, graduation and degree audit and student testing and placement.

"We are extremely excited about Rob joining the Calhoun Community College family," stated  Beck. "With our significant focus on student recruitment and retention, I know the experience that Rob brings to us in these areas will be invaluable.  His unique combination of educational preparation, including the fact that he is the product of a community college, coupled with his experience and are valuable assets to this position and ultimately, to the College and the students we serve,"  Beck added.
