Academic & Administrative Program Review Procedure
PROGRAM REVIEW CYCLE
All programs, both academic and administrative, are reviewed and evaluated on a regular basis at Calhoun Community College. Academic Programs are reviewed on a three-year cycle to support the Institutional Management Plan Cycle established by the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. Administrative Programs are reviewed annually in the fall. Both program reviews are data-based and provide evidence of how the College is using the data to make improvements.
The Administrative Program Review includes measurable unit goals that support the Core Indicators identified in the Plan for Student Success established by the College's Planning Council. Administrative Program Reviews include an area for budget requests. A Resource Request Form should be submitted to the appropriate Dean, the Vice President, or the President if funds in addition to the unit's regular budget are being requested. Administrative Program Reviews should be submitted to the appropriate Dean, Vice President, or President each year by September 30. Download the Administrative Program Review Template.
The Academic Program Review includes data related to the success of the program, such as graduation rates, enrollment figures, and licensure and certification rates. A Resource Request Form may be completed and submitted at any time by academic units and should be used anytime funds in addition to the unit's regular budget are requested. Academic Program Reviews should be submitted by May 31. The Office of the Vice President for Instruction & Student Affairs will compile the reviews for submission to the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. Download the Academic Program Review Template.
Program Review information should be used to evaluate the effectiveness of each program -- both academic and administrative. Contents of Program Reviews should be shared with appropriate Advisory Boards, Excellence teams, colleages, etc. to ensure effective planning.
The Plan for Student Success is published annually and includes data related to the Core Indicators of Student Success. Data collected and reported by the academic and administrative areas are monitored by the appropriate Dean, Vice President or President.
