Benita Brooks Systems Engineer, Intergraph Corp. Miss Alabama USA 1995 (1990) "The scholarships I received were the focal point for starting my journey. The skills I gained in computer and software applications and electrical engineering gave me the foundation I needed to reach my goals at UAH. Calhoun prepared me for the four-year university. With the small classes that Calhoun provided, as well as the concerned and capable instructors, I achieved the framework to reach my career goals."

Dr. Susan D. Parker Alabama State Auditor (1990) Dr. Parker became a student at Calhoun when she was only 16 years old. After graduation, she was hired as a secretary at Calhoun and worked her way up through the ranks to the Associate Dean of Administrative Services and eventually became Assistant to the President for External Affairs at Athens State University. In 1996, Dr. Parker retired from her successful career in higher education to start her own consulting business. She won her bid for State Auditor last year and took office in January, 1999.
