1st Hair Show of 2009--March 13, 2009

The Cosmetology Department hosted their first Spring Hair Show on March 13, 2009. It was an exciting activity for the Cosmetology students, challenging them to stretch their creative imaginations by creating styles from the 1950's to futuristic and modern day, as well as using a theme and attire to go along with the style. The students truly exhibited great styles and talent. The Cosmetology lab floor was transformed into a runway for our models with family and friends looking on. The department was decorated in the Easter Them, bunies, eggs, lilies and an assortment of spring colors.

Special thanks to all who came out and especially to our judges Patricia Colburn, Cosmetology Evening Instructor, Felissa Jackson, Anointed Creations Salon Owner, Dr. Sue Mitchell, BUS/CIS Lead Faculty, Gary Rathbone, Barbering Instructor, and Tamatha Williams, tabulator and Cosmetology student instructor.

1st Place Winner: Amy Collier, stylist; Brittany Hobbs, model; theme "A Spanish Senorita" (1st row below)
2nd Place Winner: Sherri Brennan, stylist; Emily Butler, model; theme "Classic Sultry (2nd row below)
3rd Place Winner: Keshondra Kennedy, stylist; Erica Thompson, model; Mikala Malone, assistant make-up and nails; theme "A Night to Remember" (3rd row below)
