Industry Safety and Health

OSHA 30-Hour Construction/General Industry

This 30-hour program is intended to provide a variety of training to people with some safety responsibility in General Industry. Those successfully completing this program will receive an OSHA card from the Department of Labor for 30 hours of General Industry Safety Training.

Location: Decatur campus – Advanced Manufacturing Center

2 hour sessions for each of the following:
OSHA Act, General Duty Clause 5(a) (1), Inspection, Citations and Penalties (CFR Part 1903); Walking Working Surfaces, Sub part D; Exit Routes; Emergency Action Plans; Fire Prevention Plans; Fire Protection, Subpart E & L; Electrical, Subpart S

1 - 1.5 hour sessions for each of the following:
Permit – Required Confined Spaces, Subpart J; Personal Protective Equipment, Subpart I; Lockout/Tagout, Subpart J; Machine Guarding, Subpart N; Hazard Communications, Subpart Z; Flammable and Combustible Liquids, Subpart H; Material Handling, Subpart O; Record Keeping, CFR 1904; Safety and Health Programs; Introduction to Industrial Hygiene/Bloodborne Pathogens, Subpart Z

OSHA 10-Hour Construction/General Industry

This 10-hour program is intended to provide a variety of training on Construction Safety and Health to entry level workers. Emphasis will be placed on hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention.

1 hour sessions for each of the following:
OSHA Act, General Duty Clause 5(a) (1), Inspection, Citations and Penalties (CFR Part 1903); Record Keeping, CFR 1904; General Health and Safety Provisions, Competent Persons. Subpart C Electrical, Subpart K; Fall Protection, Subpart M

.5 hours each:
Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment, Subpart E; Tools-Hand and Power, Subpart I; Scaffolds, Subpart L; Excavations, Subpart P; Stairways and Ladders, Subpart X; Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal, Subpart H

Optional: Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, and Conveyors, Subpart N, and other specific company target areas
