Registration for 2012 Spring Semester Continues at Calhoun


Students planning to attend Calhoun Community College for the 2012 spring semester still have time to register before the beginning of classes on Monday, January 9, 2012.   Spring semester registration will re-open Thursday, December 15, 2011, and run through Sunday, January 8, 2012.

While some classes are filling up, class availability still exists, says Dr. Dan Opalewski, Calhoun’s associate dean for enrollment management and registrar.  According to Opalewski, all students must register online through the college’s web registration process.  “All new students must meet with a member of the Calhoun Advising Center staff at either the Decatur or Huntsville campus for advising prior to registering for the first time,” said Opalewski.  The college will be closed for the holidays December 23, 2011 – January 2, 2012.  “Current students already have assigned ID and personal identification numbers and may register on-line at any time, 24-hours a day, seven days a week,” Opalewski added.

Web registration may be accessed by clicking on WebAdvisor on Calhoun’s website.  The 2012 Spring semester schedule may also be accessed electronically through the Calhoun website or printed copies may be picked up at either campus.

Additionally, students may still apply for financial aid for the spring semester by first completing the FAFSA, which can be accessed by going to or directly from the Calhoun Financial Aid webpage, located under the Student Services link.

Financial aid is still available for qualified students,” commented Student Financial Aid Services director Deborah Byrd.  “We encourage them if they have not already done so to complete the application now; however, they should be advised that due to the upcoming holidays, the approval process from the Department of Education may be slower.

All tuition and fees are due at the time of registration.
