The Calhoun Lady Warhawks will put an experienced group of infielders on the diamond as each starting position will be held by a sophomore.  Kelsey Turner (3B),  Jessica Speake (SS), Leah Stephenson (2B), Chelsea Bennich (C), and Kelsey Gilbert & Meaghan Bond return on the mound.  Sophomore Cortney Jones and Makala Nolen will share responsibilities at first base.  Jones will see action as a utility player as she gains playing time at the middle infield position.    Nolen’s high school teammate, Kheala Spencer will also see a lot of playing time at shortstop and 3rd.

Outfield positions are still up for grabs to replace the loss of two speedsters in the offseason.  Sophomore Brittany Brown will anchor the outfield in centerfield.  Pitchers Hannah Dildine and Meaghan Bond will see action as well as Jessica Thompson, Kim Evans, and transfer Callie Bryant.  The team is hopeful Freshman outfielder Allison Hodges will rejoin the team later in the season after recovering from a Thankgiving weekend car accident.

Lindsay Jackson will add to the depth chart on the mound and Katie Brazier will play a backup role at 2nd and Catcher.    Madison Durham and Tiffani Chaviers are expected to contribute in the Batter’s Box.
