Calhoun Community College Presents 10th Annual Writers' Conference


Calhoun Community College will present its 10th Annual Writers’ Conference, Thursday, April 14, 2010, at the college’s Aerospace Training Center on the Decatur campus. To accommodate the anticipated standing-room  only crowd, this free event will be held at 9:00 am and again at 7:00 pm. Both performances are open to the public.

This year's featured writer is Michael Knight, author of the novel, Divining Rod, two collections of short fiction,Dogfight and Stories and Goodnight, Nobody and most recently, a collection of novellas, The Holiday Season. His most recent novel, The Typist, is considered his best book yet by Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love.  His fiction has appeared in places like Esquire, The New Yorker, Oxford American and Paris Review and has been anthologized in Best American Mystery Stories and New Stories from the South:  The Year's Best.

Knight directs the Creative Writing program at the University of Tennessee.
