Calhoun Community College Announces 2012 Graduation

Jim BolteCalhoun Community College will conduct its 2012 graduation ceremonies on Friday, May 11, 2012, beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The event will take place on the lawn in front of the Math/Science building on the Decatur campus.  In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will move to the Kelley Gymnasium, with televised overflow inside the Math/Science building.

According to the Calhoun Admissions Office, approximate 380 students plan to participate in this year’s ceremony.  A unique feature added to the ceremony four years ago will continue this year – the graduation procession will be led  by bagpiper Ryan Morrison.

Speaker for this year's graduation service is Jim Bolte, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing (TMMAL) in Huntsville, where he is responsible for all manufacturing and support functions.  

Mr. Bolte received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Information Systems from Eastern Kentucky University.  He has served in various capacities with Toyota since joining the corporation in 1987: Senior Vice President and Secretary for TMMAL, Vice President of Information Systems at Toyota Engineering,  Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA), Assistant General Manager of the Corporate Administration Office (CAO) for Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) in Georgetown, and Manager of Information Systems at TMMK.  Before joing Toyota, Mr. Bolte was a Systems Engineer with Ashland Oil Incorporated in the cities of Ashland and Lexington, Kentucky.

Mr Bolte is an active member in a variety of volunteer organizations.  His community involvement and board activities include Chair of the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, the National Children’s Advocacy Center, UA Huntsville Foundation Board, TEMA United Way Chairman, HP Cross Industries Board of Advisors, the Business Council of Alabama, The Committee of 100, the Business Advisory Council to the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Valley Innovation Alliance Leadership, and Alabama Robotics Technology Park Executive Board.  

This year’s graduation events kick off with the College’s 2012 GED Graduation taking  place on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 6pm Kelley Gymnasium.  Over 200 students will be participating in the annual ceremony celebrating this important milestone.

Also on May 11th, 140 students are scheduled to participate in the annual Candle Lighting Ceremony for graduates of the College's 2012 Associate Degree Nursing program.  The ceremonies will be be held at 1:00 p.m. in the college's Kelley gymnasium.
