Annual Gospel Fest and NEW Workshop
Dr. Holly Powe, chair of the Music Department at Calhoun Community College, will conduct the college’s first Gospel Workshop on February 21 and 23, 2012, at the college’s Huntsville Campus from 7:00-9:00 p.m. each evening. Dr. Reginald Jackson, faculty member at UNA and Alabama A&M, will serve as clinician.
The workshop is open to faculty, staff, students and the general public, and registration is free. However, donations will be accepted. Those wishing to donate should contact Dr. Powe or Brenda Woodfin in the Calhoun Fine Arts Dept. office, Suite 264 in the Fine Arts building on the Decatur Campus, or bring it to the February 21 rehearsal.
A bus will pick up participants on rehearsal days at the front of the Fine Arts building on the Decatur campus at 6:30 p.m. and bring them back at the end of each rehearsal. Seats on the bus are provided on a first-come-first-served basis.
Participants in the workshop will perform during Calhoun’s Annual Black History Month Gospel Fest, to be held Friday, February 24, 2012, 6:00 p.m. at the Huntsville campus. Admission to this event is free.
